Washington gets back on track, crushes Eastern Washington

Mekhi Mason scored a season-high 23 points, going 5-for-7 from 3-point range, as Washington rebounded from a pair of Big Ten losses to defeat Eastern Washington 87-69 on Tuesday night in a nonconference affair in Seattle.
Great Osobor added 16 points, five rebounds and four assists for the Huskies (7-3), who lost 69-58 at UCLA and 85-61 at home to Southern California last week. Tyler Harris scored 15 points for Washington, and Zoom Diallo added 14 on 6-of-6 shooting from the field.
Andrew Cook led Eastern Washington (2-9) with 18 points, and Nic McClain added 15 before fouling out. Emmett Marquardt scored 10 points and grabbed a game-high nine rebounds for the Eagles.
The Huskies took a 39-32 lead into the break after Diallo scored 10 points in the first half, with his layup with one second remaining providing Washington with the seven-point cushion.
With his team trailing 15-12, the Huskies' Christian King made a 3-pointer to tie the score and spark an 8-0 run that was capped by Jase Butler's trey. The Eagles never got closer than three points the rest of the way.
Washington extended its lead to double digits with another 8-0 run in the second half, with Osobor scoring on a driving layup after an EWU turnover to make it 55-41 with 14:15 left.
The Huskies pushed their advantage to 21 points, 75-54, on Tyree Ihenacho's driving layup with 7:50 remaining.
Washington put together a strong all-around offensive performance, making 34 of 56 field-goal attempts (60.7 percent) and 10 of 19 3-point attempts (52.6 percent). Eastern Washington was efficient, too, canning 50 percent of its shots overall (28 of 56), but it went just 5-for-17 from beyond the arc (29.4 percent).
The Huskies forced 16 turnovers and turned that into a 16-7 advantage in fastbreak points.
